Mouse...

Terwijl ik zit te wachten op een bestelling nieuw aquarelpapier, gebruik ik in de tussentijd kleine stukjes papier die ik nog heb liggen, stukken aquarelpapier van een merk dat ik niet zo prettig vind of achterkanten van mislukte schilderijen. Dit muisje is geschilderd op Schut Terschelling aquarelpapier, een bloc dat ik al jaren had en eigenlijk nooit gebruik, 100% cellulose papier. Ik werk liever op 100% katoen, dat veel beter erg nat schilderen verdraagt.

Mijn kerstkaarten zijn klaar en op de post. Ik heb ze dit jaar zelf geprint op aquarelpapier en dat ging heel goed. Hieronder zie je ze uitgestald op mijn schilderplek. Zoals je kunt zien wordt de muur erachter ook wel eens per ongeluk meegeschilderd. :)
Zijn jullie allemaal al bezig met kerstvoorbereidingen?

~~~~~~~
While waiting for an new order of watercolour paper, I am using small pieces of paper I have lying around, pieces of watercolour paper of a brand I don't like very much or backsides of failed paintings. This little mouse is painted on Schut Terschelling watercolour paper, a bloc I had for years and hardly ever used, 100% cellulose paper. I'd rather like to work on 100% cotton, because it tolerates very wet painting better.
My Christmas cards are ready and in the mail. I printed them myself this year on watercolour paper and that went very well. Below you see them displayed on my painting desk. You may notice the wall behind also gets a splash of paint occasionally. :)
Are you all busy preparing for Christmas?
Hi Judy! Such a joy visiting your blog. I find your mouse very sweet; in real life I don't like them that much. And I had a look at your daisies...lovely work. Happy Holidays to you and your family!
These are lovely cards. I hadn't thought of printing mine on w/c paper but just use hammered card. Does it print well?. I do love the cute little mouse, I love them as long as they don't come in the house! Have a lovely Sunday
Judy, your little mouse is delightful!!! I think it is my favorite painting of yours.
And I laughed at the paint splatters on the wall - looks like my wall. :)
What type of paper have you ordered?
Thank you everyone! As long as they don't come into the house, I love mice! I will never ever paint a spider though. :)
@Polly: I used a paper I did not like painting on, don't use your favorite paper!
The little mouse is so sweet! I like mice too, maybe because I haven't had them in my house yet :)
I'm intrigued by your mention that you printed on watercolor paper. Are you using a regular color printer? Anything special about the paper?
Have a very nice week, Judy!
Het muisje is zo lief en schattig. Je kerstkaarten zijn ook mooi. Ik wist niet dat je zelf op aquarelpapier kon afdrukken. Ga ik zeker ook eens uitproberen. Groetjes, Frieda
Thank you, dankjewel, merci beaucoup, muchas gracias!
@Blaga: just an inkjet printer and watercolor paper cut into A4 size pieces. It almost looks painted, except for the lettering.
Oh wat een aaibaar muisje!! En je kerstkaarten zien er mooi uit. Ik heb het ook nog nooit geprobeerd om ze zelf te printen. Normaalgesproken laat ik ze drukken bij Vistaprint, maar dit jaar kreeg ik zo laat inspiratie dat het foto's worden. Groetjes!!
