In a row...



Ik had de foto al een tijdje klaarliggen om te schilderen. Je ziet ze vaak in het Hollandse landschap langs een sloot in de weilanden. Ze intrigeren me, deze knotwilgen.
Een beetje winters kleurenpalet, maar we zijn tenslotte al bijna aan het eind van de zomer.

I've had the reference photo for some time now ready to paint. You see them often in the Dutch landscape alongside a ditch in the meadows. I find them intriguing, these willows.
A little wintry palette, but we are nearing the end of summer after all.

  6. What a delightful picture!! I too love willows when they have been pollarded though it's a brutal way to treat them. When they get old they gain such character. Love your brushwork here. Clever and confident!!
