Mispels... Medlars...

Prettig weekend allemaal!

A still life of medlars, I was intrigued by their colour. I used: raw and burnt sienna, gamboge yellow, vermillion red, quinacridone pink, cobalt blue and olive green.
Have a nice weekend, all of you!

P.S. I did not know what medlars were either, because I painted this from a friends photo.
Here you can read more about them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mespilus_germanica

  17. Beautiful painting. You catch a very nice depth, with these pigments scheme - what interesting - without ultramarine blue.
    Great job, Judy.

  18. Mooi Judy. Groetjes
