Baubles in a box...

Kerstballen in een doos. Een schetsachtige aquarel, bijna een abstract, met de uitdaging om goud en zilver weer te geven.

Ik doe vaker van dit soort schetsen maar ik plaats ze niet altijd op mijn blog.

Hoe gaat het met jullie voorbereidingen voor Kerstmis?

Baubles in a box. A sketchy watercolour, almost an abstract, with the challenge to paint silver and gold. 

I love to do this kind of sketches but I don't always post them on my blog.

Op zoek in tijdschriften naar gezichten en figuren om te tekenen of te schilderen, vond ik een foto van deze kleine teddybeer, en hij vroeg om geschilderd te worden. Hij ziet er verloren uit, maar ik hoop dat hij gauw gevonden wordt door een klein meisje of jongetje, en dat er weer van hem gehouden wordt!

Looking in magazines for faces and figures to draw and paint, I found a photo of this little teddybear, and he asked for being painted. He looks lost, but I hope he will be found soon by a little girl or boy, and that he will be loved again! 

Choose light...

Ik heb geprobeerd kaarsen te schilderen gisteren. 

En in het licht van de recente gebeurtenissen in Parijs leek 'Kies licht...' een goede titel.

I attempted to paint candles yesterday. 

And in the light of the recent events in Paris 'Choose light... ' seemed like a good title.

Laundry day...

Veel blauwen zitten in dit schilderij: kobalt blauw, Pruisisch blauw, indigo. Maar ook een beetje gebrande sienna en violet.

Many blues in this painting: cobalt blue, Prussian blue and indigo. But also some burnt sienna and violet. 

Autumn...

Het is koud en het regent, de herfst is begonnen.

De bladeren hierboven heb ik in 2011 geschilderd en ik vind ze nog steeds mooi.
