Small paintings...

SOLD

Crocuses, inspired by Maggie Latham's 31 Days of Colour.
I have not mastered the pouring technique yet, it was fun though!
Both are painted on Canson Fontenay paper, 100% cotton.

Available in my Etsy shop. SOLD

  1. Love both of these Judy. I didn't think to do my own versions of Maggie's exercises. You are an inspiration. Pouring is definitely tricky I got in a bit of mess but yours turned out beautifully. :-)

  2. This cupcake looks good enough to eat. You have done the ridges on the paper brilliantly. Looks a bit of a nightmare to do. Must have a look at this 31 days blog as I keep seeing it crop up.

  4. Thank you Laura! I did not wait long enough for the paint to dry thoroughly before pouring a layer of yellow. Not patient enough. :)

Thank you Polly! The roughness of this paper helped to only suggest the ridges in the paper. Be sure to look at Maggie's 31 Days of Colour! Can really recommand it!

Thank you Sadami! I am on a diet too! Fortunately no calories in this painting! :)

  18. Judy nice cake, I too have tried the pouring technique and would need a lot of practice to be happy with my result. BTW on Facebook I set up a dedicated page for my art somI could keep my personal page for family (not that we use it at the moment) so hope you will LIKE my fb page and understand why I did not reply to your friend request , with the way Facebook is going I am not sure I should have gone down this path but I have not got the energy to change now as it so takes me away from my brushes the page is Lorraine Brown Watercolours

  23. Judy, your cupcake looks scrumptious! I know it might sound weird, but you really did a wonderful job of the paper cup for the cupcake. :)

  24. Hello Judy both your pictures are absolutely beautiful. I love your work. I like the texture on the cake - I had no idea different papers could be so effective and have never heard of pouring! must get a good book and find out more! Betty

  25. These are both lovely but I particularly like the crocus. I hope they come up in my garden soon but between the heavy rain we had and the squirrels (grrrrr...) I'm not sure I will have any left ;o) I shall content myself to look at yours. Thank you.
