No I did not invent them, John, I painted them from an organic supermarket magazine. They are called 'heritage carrots' in Britain, I think. There used to be many coloured carrots in the old days, not only the orange variety.
I can buy rainbow carrots at our local organic store and I love doing that. I don't think the taste of the multicolored carrots differ much but they are, as you show us, pure eye candy.
Judy, I never considered carrots "gorgeous" until I saw these! They should be featured in a cookbook or seed catalog - beautiful!!
