Odd one out...

Ik had deze bos felgekleurde gladiolen gekocht en één tak bloemen bleek een afwijkende kleur te hebben.
Het schilderij hieronder is één van de studies die ik maakte, om de vorm en de kleuren van de bloemen te verkennen.
Ik merk dat het maken van deze studies mij helpt om een onderwerp in de vingers te krijgen, en door ze 'studies' te noemen geeft het me de vrijheid om ze te mogen verknoeien. :)
Prettig weekend!

Bovenstaand schilderij is te koop in mijn Etsy shop.

~~~~~~~
I had bought this bouquet of brightly coloured gladioli and one branch of flowers turned out to have a different color.
The painting below is one of the studies that I made to explore the shapes and colours of the flowers.
 I find that these studies are really helpful to get a feel for a subject, and calling them 'studies' gives me the freedom to mess them up. :)
Have a nice weekend!
The painting above is available in my Etsy shop.
I like both 'studies' Judy, and such lovely colours.
Beide zijn mooi, maar ik vind de tweede aantrekkelijker waarschijnlijk vanwege de opvallende kleuren en het is meer close-up. Fijn weekend.
Alhoewel ik niet zo'n liefhebber ben van de wat stijve gladiolen, vind ik je schilderij wel erg mooi geworden.
Groet, Annet
Judy, these are so beautiful! I love the yellows and oranges! Like often happens when I see your watercolor, I wish I could produce one that is so deliciously fresh.
Judy said...
Blaga, thank you! The yellow vase made the flowers even more vibrant, in real life and in the painting. I like using yellow in my paintings.
Wat een leuke 'twist' aan je onderwerp, dat er één tak een andere kleur heeft - moest dus gewoon zo zijn - mooie studies weer.
